Humble beginnings—by that, we mean the founders were broke.

JH Coffee was founded in 2012 by two brothers, Josh and Hezzie. Their love for coffee started early—courtesy of their mother, who practically bottle-fed them the stuff. So, when the opportunity arose to take over the coffee stall at the Harkerville Market, they jumped at it.

The business came with a push-to-grind espresso machine meant for home use and rated for a grand total of 25 cups per day. Naturally, Josh and Hezzie completely ignored that limit and ran those poor machines into the ground, well past their intended lifespan. Eventually, the day came when they upgraded to The Wega, a real workhorse of an espresso machine, marking their first step into proper coffee craftsmanship.

Over the years, JH Coffee has seen its fair share of highs and lows—early mornings, long queues, technical disasters, and the occasional existential crisis over latte art. But through it all, they’ve remained committed to serving high-quality coffee, whether at Harkerville Market or on the road at weddings and events.

These days, the Harkerville stall is in the capable hands of JH Coffee staff and has seen the likes of such legendary baristas such as Luke and Tayo. Meanwhile, Josh and Hezzie continue expanding the JH Coffee experience, fueled by a mix of passion, caffeine, and sheer stubbornness.
